Simina | Week 5 | #52Portraits

For this week’s #52portraits shoot, I was joined by Simina for a wintery wander through the park. Winter is tough for me, because the hours of light are limited, and sunsets are short (not that we can often see the sunset this time of year in the UK). With the little available sunlight being snuffed out by heavy cloud-cover and trees in the park, these images were given a cold and bleak feeling – far away from my beloved sunsets and glowy backlight. I tried to use this effect to my advantage, hoping to conjure up an air of mystery and fairy-tale.

I won’t lie, I’m ready for summer to arrive. I’ve lived in London from October until now (May at the time of this writing) and have survived the worst weather that this city has to offer me. Soon I hope to discover why so many pubs have patios – does the weather actually get that warm? Hard for me to believe right now, but I still have hope! Road-trips to the seaside and picnics in the park are coming soon.

You can follow my portrait project  or over on facebook – I need as many people as possible to yell at me and make sure I’m following through. Thanks for the help!
